Simulation of contra-lateral inhibition using venn-networks

چکیده
This paper illustrates how a computer model, based on Venn-networks, mimics a physiological phenomenon present in brains of higher animals: contra-lateral inhibition. The experiments were carried out by utilizing the GVNS, i.e. Generalized Venn-network Simulator. The data-set utilized in all simulations consisted of digital representations of finger positions of a piano player when performing a Mozart sonata. Results show that it is possible for the referred computer model to simultaneously exhibit topological network activations while controlling a simple task such as ‘moving fingers’ as well as incorporating contra-lateral like inhibition. .

Background and Aim: Soft tissue condition around dental implant is an essential part for long term healthy and esthetic outcome. The aim of this study was to compare soft tissue dimensions between implant supported single tooth replacement and the contra-lateral natural tooth. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study was performed on dentate patients treated with anterior single tooth...

INTRODUCTION Tinnitus is considered as one of the major symptom associated with many pathologies along with its presence in individuals with normal hearing. With varied cause and mechanism of its generation and increase in number of individuals with complaint of tinnitus, rehabilitation becomes crucial for Audiologists. OBJECTIVE Study was undertaken to find the efficacy of Residual Inhibitio...

Recent activation and electrophysiological studies have demonstrated that sound recognition and localization are processed in two distinct cortical networks that are each present in both hemispheres. Sound recognition and/or localization may be, however, disrupted by purely unilateral damage, suggesting that processing within one hemisphere may not be sufficient or may be disturbed by the contr...

متن کاملAlterations in the Contra lateral Ear in Chronic Otitis Media
Introduction: Chronic otitis media (COM), a persistent and durable inflammation and infection of the middle ear, is a common disorder. Alterations in the contralateral ear in sufferers have been observed in recent years. Because only a few studies have been reported in this area, we performed this study in order to assess alterations in the contralateral ear of patients with COM. Materials an...
